NZFW is confirmed for 17-22 August 2026 at Shed 10 on Auckland's waterfront, presented by Giltrap Group and backed by Government Events Boost funding, under owner Aligroup Ltd and Executive Director Liam Taylor.
New Zealand Fashion Week (NZFW) is confirmed to return to Shed 10 on Auckland's Queens Wharf from 17-22 August 2026, following a landmark 2025 relaunch. The organiser reports the 2026 programme will build on the 2025 edition, bringing together established designers, emerging talent and the wider creative industry through runway shows, immersive experiences and industry conversations. For the first time in 15 years the event has secured New Zealand Government support, via the one-off $10 million contestable Events Boost Fund, alongside continued backing from Tātaki Auckland Unlimited and presenting partner Giltrap Group.
NZFW was founded in 2001 by Dame Pieter Stewart and was acquired in 2021 by Aligroup Ltd, owned by entrepreneur Feroz Ali (also owner of Whitecliffe Colleges). The 2026 edition, now in the event's 25th year, is led by Executive Director Liam Taylor and is presented in partnership with the Giltrap Group. In partnership with Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei, NZFW has been gifted the name Kahuria. Enquiries from brands and partners are directed through the event's official site.
The organiser describes NZFW as connecting emerging and established fashion designers with buyers, media and consumers on a global scale, making it a mixed trade and public event. The 2025 edition combined an industry, buyer and media programme with strong public access, reporting over 4,600 public tickets sold and 5.5 million social media views across the week, with designers including Karen Walker (with adidas), Kathryn Wilson, Zambesi, Claudia Li and Juliette Hogan on the Shed 10 programme. The 2026 vision continues that more inclusive, public-accessible format.
Shed 10 is a heritage events venue on Queens Wharf on Auckland's central waterfront, within the Auckland CBD. Its downtown location places it within walking distance of the Britomart transport interchange, Commercial Bay, and Viaduct Harbour, with the wider CBD accommodation and hospitality precinct immediately adjacent. The venue is the stated 2026 host.
NZFW is an internationally recognised anchor event on Auckland's business-events calendar, drawing designers, buyers, media and international guests into the CBD during August. The 2026 return, underpinned by Government Events Boost funding aimed at lifting international visitation and economic activity, positions it as a significant driver of visitor spend and industry activity for Tāmaki Makaurau.
