Bidfood brings its Beyond the Plate foodservice trade show to Northland on 25 August 2026

MICE editorial — 09 August 2026 Whangarei Tier A

Bidfood New Zealand's combined Whangarei + Waipapa Beyond the Plate Trade Show runs Tuesday 25 August 2026, 12-4pm, at the Copthorne Hotel and Resort Bay of Islands in Waitangi, as part of the distributor's national 16-stop regional roadshow.

A foodservice trade show for the North

Bidfood New Zealand will stage its Northland Beyond the Plate Trade Show on Tuesday 25 August 2026, running from 12pm to 4pm. Bidfood's own 2026 schedule lists the stop as a combined "Whangarei + Waipapa" event, held at the Copthorne Hotel and Resort Bay of Islands at 1 Tau Henare Drive, Waitangi.

Who runs it

The show is organised by Bidfood New Zealand, one of the country's largest foodservice wholesalers and distributors. According to Bidfood, it runs 16 Beyond the Plate Trade Shows across regional New Zealand each year, all scheduled between April and September, alongside its flagship Auckland industry event, Taste of Summer, held at the Auckland Showgrounds.

Who it's for

These are trade-only foodservice events aimed at chefs, hospitality operators and kitchen decision-makers. Bidfood says attendees can explore new ingredients and menu solutions, watch hands-on product demonstrations with expert tips, meet leading New Zealand foodservice manufacturers directly, and take home exclusive recipe cards and product samples.

Venue and logistics context

Worth noting for planning: although the event is catalogued under "Whangarei," the confirmed 2026 venue is the Copthorne Hotel and Resort Bay of Islands at Waitangi, roughly an hour's drive north of Whangarei city, near Paihia in the Bay of Islands. The venue is a waterfront resort hotel with on-site parking and accommodation, and sits within the wider Bay of Islands visitor area served by State Highway 11.

Why it matters in NZ MICE

Bidfood's Beyond the Plate roadshow is a recurring anchor on the New Zealand business-events calendar, using regional convention and hotel venues to bring supplier trade exhibitions directly to hospitality operators outside the main centres. For Northland, the Waitangi date represents one of the region's regular trade-exhibition draws.
