Motorsport and karting team building activities in New Zealand

MICE editorial — 25 August 2026 Tier A

MICE lists 28 motorsport, karting and off-road operators for corporate groups across 12 New Zealand cities.

Karting and off-road driving are the reliable workhorses of New Zealand corporate team building: everyone can do them, the scoring is obvious, and they scale. MICE lists 28 activity operators tagged motorsport, spread across 12 cities.

Where the depth is

Christchurch and Queenstown lead with five listed operators each. Christchurch has V8 Superdrive (2–3 hours), Supa Karts, Game Over Christchurch, Adventure Ride (groups of 5–50, from two hours to a full day) and Hanmer Springs Attractions. Queenstown has Highlands Motorsport Park, Game Over Queenstown, Off Road Adventures, Nomad Safaris and Oxbow Adventure Co.

Auckland lists Game Over Auckland, 4 Track Adventures and Ace Motorsport. Wellington has Indoor Raceway (12–36 people, 45 minutes to an hour), Daytona Adventure Park (from 18 people) and KartSport Wellington. Taupō has three: Taupo Go Karts at Taupō International Motorsport Park, Taupo Quad Adventures and Ruapehu Adventure Rides.

Smaller centres are covered too — BayStation and The Cave Papamoa in Tauranga, Xtreme Karts and Xtreme Off Road in Invercargill, Pro Karts & Nelson Fun Park in Nelson, Blastacars Drift Karts in Hamilton, Avon Valley Safaris in Blenheim, Dirt Bandits in Ashburton, and Off Road NZ in Rotorua.

Sizing it to your delegate numbers

This is where the listings do real work. For a large conference group, the biggest listed capacities are Off Road Adventures and Nomad Safaris in Queenstown (both up to 500), Game Over Christchurch (up to 400), Game Over Queenstown (10–220), Off Road NZ in Rotorua (10–150) and Oxbow Adventure Co. (8–120). At the other end, Blastacars Drift Karts Hamilton caps at 12 and The Cave Papamoa at 40 — fine for a leadership team, not for a plenary.

Indoor versus outdoor

Nine of the 28 are indoor venues, which matters for a winter conference. Game Over (Auckland, Christchurch, Queenstown), Indoor Raceway, Daytona Adventure Park, Supa Karts, The Cave Papamoa, Xtreme Karts and Blastacars all run under cover. Highlands Motorsport Park and Pro Karts & Nelson Fun Park are listed as both. The off-road and quad operators are weather-exposed — build a wet-weather alternative into the brief.

Practicalities

Most motorsport venues sit outside the CBD, so budget a coach leg each way. Only Pro Karts & Nelson Fun Park is flagged as mobile.
