IT Professionals New Zealand — the ICT professional body founded in 1960 as the New Zealand Data Processing and Computer Society and later known as the New Zealand Computer Society and the Institute of IT Professionals — is no longer operating: its own website carries a notice to members stating that on 1 December 2025 members voted at a Special General Meeting to place IT Professionals NZ into liquidation, and that the organisation is in the process of winding down operations. ITP's closure page sets out the reasons — longstanding unrecoverable debts, the expiry on 9 September 2025 of its licence with BCS (UK) to administer the Chartered IT Professional designation, and an operating model the Board concluded was unsustainable — and states that the Board's priority shifted to managing closure and securing a new home for members and certifications rather than running programmes or events. No "ITPNZ National Conference 2026" appears anywhere on ITP's own site, and neither the October date nor the Tākina Wellington venue recorded in the directory could be confirmed from any organiser source.
