Product Aotearoa Conference 2026 lands at Takina and Te Papa in Wellington

MICE editorial — 29 October 2026 Wellington Tier A

The Product Aotearoa Conference 2026 is a two-day gathering for New Zealand's product community on 12-13 November 2026, with keynotes at Takina and workshops next door at Te Papa in central Wellington, run by the volunteer-led community Product Aotearoa.

Product Aotearoa Conference 2026

The Product Aotearoa Conference 2026 is a two-day event for New Zealand's product community, running 12-13 November 2026 in Wellington. Day one is a programme of keynote talks and day two a set of hands-on workshops, with attendees choosing one morning and one afternoon session.

Who runs it

The conference is organised by Product Aotearoa, which describes itself on its official site (productaotearoa.org.nz) as a volunteer-run community for product professionals across New Zealand that hosts events, workshops and the annual conference. Product Aotearoa held its inaugural conference in Auckland on 7-8 September 2023 and has also run community "unconferences" (May 2023 and July 2024), per archived organiser and registration pages.

Who it's for and the programme

The aggregator listing frames the audience as product managers and leaders, founders and startup teams, and designers and engineers working in product, plus people moving into product roles. Day one features keynotes from global and local product leaders (including Martin Eriksson). Day two's practitioner-led workshops cover hands-on AI prototyping for product managers, product metrics in the AI era, product-leadership benchmarks, product craft in the age of AI, and go-to-market. Full speaker and workshop detail is published at productaotearoa.org.nz/conference.

Venue, movement and transport

The conference uses two adjacent waterfront venues in the Wellington CBD. Day one keynotes are held at Takina, the Wellington Convention and Exhibition Centre, at 50 Cable Street. Day two workshops move next door to the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa. Because the two buildings sit side by side on Cable Street, delegate movement between the keynote day and the workshop day is a short walk within the central city, which is well served by Wellington's CBD transport, waterfront precinct and surrounding accommodation.

Why it matters in NZ MICE

The event brings a national product-management conference into Wellington's purpose-built convention centre (Takina, opened 2023) paired with the country's national museum, pulling a professional technology and product audience into the capital for a mid-November business-events booking across two anchor waterfront venues.
