Wealth-management leaders return to Queenstown for The Inside Network's fourth Investment Leaders Forum

MICE editorial — 02 August 2026 Queenstown Tier A

The Inside Network stages its fourth annual INZ: Investment Leaders Forum at Queenstown's Rendezvous Heritage Queenstown over 9-11 August 2026, convening Australian and New Zealand wealth-management leaders around portfolio construction for private clients.

The INZ: Investment Leaders Forum returns to Queenstown from 9 to 11 August 2026, running across three days at the Rendezvous Heritage Queenstown on the shore of Lake Wakatipu. According to organiser The Inside Network, the 2026 edition — themed "Scrutiny, strategy, and superior practices" — is the fourth annual staging of the forum, which convenes senior wealth-management leaders, principals and chief investment officers from across Australia and New Zealand around the discipline of portfolio construction for private clients.

Who runs it

The forum is produced by The Inside Network, a financial-advice community and events business headquartered in Sydney and Melbourne. The "INZ" prefix denotes the group's New Zealand programme, part of a regional series that also includes Australian (INAUS), Asian (INASIA) and United States (INUSA) editions. The Inside Network lists Colonial First State (CFS) as the event's foundation partner and runs the forum under its "insiders" membership banner; the organiser also publishes titles including The Inside Adviser and Investor Strategy News. A Queenstown edition has run since 2023, with the 2025 forum drawing wealth-management leaders from both countries, per the organiser's post-event material.

Who it is for and what happens

The Inside Network describes the audience as investment leaders — advisers, principals and CIOs — who want to pressure-test ideas, challenge assumptions and return to their practice with greater clarity. The programme centres on macro trends, asset-class outlooks, risk management and regional dynamics, delivered through a mix of institutional presentations, adviser-led due-diligence sessions, interactive debate and a live "press conference" format in which speakers field questions from the delegate cohort. The organiser says the agenda carries up to 10 CPD points spanning ethics, compliance, client care and technical competence. Named 2026 thought leaders include Kevin Toohey (Atchison), Rebecca Jacques (Mercer), Dr Christian Baylis (Fortlake Asset Management) and Craig Brooke (KeyInvest), according to the event site. The 2025 programme was complemented by a wine tasting and dinner at Stoneridge Estate and a dinner at The Grille by Eichardt's, the organiser reports.

The venue and getting there

The forum is held at the Rendezvous Heritage Queenstown, which the organiser describes as a European-style lodge built from schist stone and native timbers with views over Lake Wakatipu and The Remarkables. The Inside Network's logistics notes set out delegate movement: shuttle buses run from Queenstown Airport to the hotel on arrival day (Sunday 9 August), hotel check-in opens at 3:00pm, and a return shuttle departs the hotel for the airport at 12:30pm on the closing day (Tuesday 11 August). The organiser lists suggested trans-Tasman flights from Melbourne and Sydney on Qantas, Virgin Australia and Air New Zealand, and offers a corporate accommodation rate at the hotel for delegates extending their stay. The surrounding district — including Arrowtown and The Remarkables ski area — is promoted by the organiser as an extend-your-stay option.

Why it matters in NZ MICE

The Investment Leaders Forum is a recurring, cross-border business event that positions Queenstown as a winter conference destination for the Australian and New Zealand wealth-management sector. Its multi-day, residential format — sessions plus offsite dinners and social programming anchored at a single lakefront property — is characteristic of the high-value conference-and-incentive activity Queenstown attracts in the August ski season, drawing trans-Tasman delegates into the Southern Lakes region outside the peak summer window.
