Bayline Coaches is a family owned and operated bus company based at 12 Alach Street, Greerton, Tauranga, serving the Bay of Plenty. It is one of the largest passenger transport operators in the region.
The business began in 1919 as Tauranga's first motorised passenger service, and has traded under several names since — Tauranga Bus Service from 1946, Tauranga Mount Maunganui Bus Company from 1969, and Bayline from 1986. The company reports carrying over a million passengers a year across school services, tourism, cruise excursions and private charter.
Bayline operates a fleet of more than 80 vehicles, ranging from an 11-seat van up to a 61-seat coach — described by the company as the largest transport coach in the Bay of Plenty. That range makes it practical to match vehicle size to group size rather than running part-empty coaches. Day-to-day operations from the Greerton base include more than 50 school buses plus charter work.
Over the summer season Bayline moves large numbers of cruise passengers arriving at the Port of Tauranga, running programmes throughout the Bay of Plenty and across to Rotorua. That cruise work is directly relevant experience for event organisers: it involves timed, high-volume, multi-coach movements against a hard return deadline.
Bayline lists conferences explicitly among the work it takes on. Typical business-events applications include:
Quotes are prepared to individual travel requirements; the company notes cancellations made within one week of travel may incur a fee.
Bayline Coaches holds a Qualmark Gold rating, New Zealand tourism's official quality mark.
