Nelson City Taxis is the taxi operation of the Nelson City Taxi Society, which was established in 1962 and operates across Nelson, Stoke and Richmond at the top of the South Island. It is affiliated with the Blue Bubble taxi network and describes itself as Nelson's largest taxi fleet, with around 42 vehicles made up of sedans, wagons, vans, executive vehicles and dedicated Total Mobility vehicles.
The operator runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Published service lines include general point-to-point taxi work, airport transfers, conference and event transport, wedding transport, and Total Mobility wheelchair-accessible vans for eligible passengers. All vehicles are fitted with security cameras. Bookings can be made by phone, through the company's online booking form, or via the YourRide app, which offers live tracking. Payment options include cash, EFTPOS and credit card, and TaxiCharge account products.
For conference and incentive organisers working in the Nelson Tasman region, the relevant strengths are scale and account handling rather than coach-style capacity. A fleet of that size supports staggered delegate arrivals into Nelson Airport, dispersed hotel-to-venue movements, and late-night returns after conference dinners — the situations where a single coach is the wrong tool. The company lists conference and event transport as a service in its own material, and TaxiCharge accounts allow transport to be centrally billed to an organiser rather than settled by individual delegates. Total Mobility vehicles in the fleet also give a practical route to accessible transfers where a delegate requires a wheelchair-accessible vehicle.
Nelson City Taxis suits event and conference programmes needing flexible, on-demand delegate movements across Nelson, Stoke and Richmond, particularly where arrivals are spread across the day. See related Nelson transport options.
