Tongariro Expeditions is a family-owned shuttle operator that has been running since 1998, specialising in transport to and from the Tongariro Alpine Crossing, one of New Zealand's best-known day walks in the central North Island. It is the longest-running shuttle provider for the crossing, with more than 25 years of experience.
Its main service is a return shuttle from Taupō: early-morning pick-up from central Taupō accommodation (or the Taupō i-SITE), a journey of around 90 minutes to the Mangatepopo trailhead, and afternoon collection from the Ketetahi end, allowing a generous window on the track. One-way shuttles from the Ketetahi park-and-ride and other options are also offered, and bookings come with a map and information sheet.
Tongariro Expeditions is a specialist walk-shuttle operator rather than a general charter company.
