The Ashburton Event Centre (also known as the Ashburton Trust Event Centre) is a conference and performing arts venue at 211 Wills Street, Ashburton, in mid-Canterbury. It is a modern, versatile facility used for meetings, conferences, trade shows, live performances and theatre productions, and is maintained with support from the Braided Rivers Community Trust and the Ashburton Performing Arts Theatre Trust.
Its main space, the O'Reilly Auditorium and Conference Venue, seats up to 500 people and is the venue's primary conference and performance room. Smaller spaces include the Bradford Room and Woodham Foyer, which each seat up to 100, and the Green Room, which seats up to 30 — giving organisers a mix of plenary and breakout options within the one building. The centre offers wheelchair access, free Wi-Fi and off-street parking, and can supply catering and staffed bars through its own hospitality arrangements.
Ashburton Event Centre suits small to mid-sized conferences, seminars, trade shows and community events for up to around 500 delegates, alongside its ongoing use for performing arts, rather than large-scale exhibitions. Its central Ashburton location makes it a practical option for organisations serving the mid-Canterbury region.
