Bethlehem Hall is a traditional community hall at 239A State Highway 2, in the middle of Bethlehem's main street, Tauranga. It is operated by Bay Venues, a Tauranga City Council organisation, and is a large unstaffed facility available for community bookings and private functions year-round.
The main hall is a large open room with 11 fixed seating booths running along one side and a small raised stage for theatrical or musical performances. A sound control room is attached to the stage, allowing productions to be run properly rather than improvised. A separate lounge room can be opened into the hall or used as a standalone breakout space — useful for a syndicate room, registration desk or catering area alongside a main session.
Listed capacity is 370 standing. On-site furniture includes 22 large and 11 small tables plus 124 chairs, with the large floor space allowing flexible seating layouts.
The hall's best-known feature is its wooden dance floor, well used by Tauranga dance schools across styles from ballroom to Scottish dancing and Zumba.
Bethlehem Hall is a straightforward, good-value option for community events, performances and competitions, dance and fitness classes, markets, training days and larger meetings or seminars in a flat-floor or theatre layout, as well as birthday parties and family functions. The blank-canvas main hall plus a separate lounge gives organisers more configuration options than a single-room hall, and the State Highway 2 location makes it easy to reach from across the western side of the city. A practical, no-frills choice among Tauranga venues.
