Coene's Bar and Eatery sits at 103 Oriental Parade on Wellington's Oriental Bay waterfront, with an open deck facing the harbour. It is part of Star Group, which operates more than 50 bars, pubs and restaurants across New Zealand.

The menu draws on cuisines from around the world and leans on fresh New Zealand ingredients, with seafood a particular focus. The deck is the venue's main draw in warmer months. A happy hour runs Monday to Friday from 4pm to 6pm on house wine and bottled lager and cider.

Coene's is set up for events and publishes two configurations:
Restaurant — the indoor dining area, with waterside views and good natural light. Suited to smaller gatherings, celebrations and business meet-ups.
Full venue — exclusive use of the whole site, including the outdoor decking. Works for both cocktail-and-canapés formats and formal seated dinners.
### Corporate suitability
The full-venue option includes an in-house AV system and a microphone, which makes it workable for speeches, awards presentations and thank-yous — the practical minimum for a corporate function or end-of-year event. The venue's own enquiry form lists conferences, corporate functions, meetings, lunches and dinners among the occasions it caters for, alongside private celebrations and weddings.
Catering options include grazing tables, platters and set menus. Star Group provides an events team at no additional charge to handle planning and coordination, and a downloadable function pack is available from the venue's functions page. Function bookings also earn Star Social rewards at $1 back for every $10 spent, redeemable across the group's venues.
