About this place

Gin Gin is a gin and cocktail bar at 4-6 New Regent Street in the Christchurch central city, serving gin cocktails, food and live music. It is open Monday to Thursday from 3pm until late, and Friday to Sunday from 12pm until late. Its New Regent Street address places it in the pedestrianised Spanish Mission-style strip between Armagh and Gloucester Streets, a short walk from Cathedral Square and the central city hotel cluster.

### Function spaces

Gin Gin publishes a detailed function pack with four options:

• Upstairs Lounge - a relaxed nook above the main level, alongside the upstairs bar, accommodating up to 15 guests. Available for "drinks and nibbles" bookings with no minimum spend.
• Juniper Room - a private room seating up to 35 for dining, or up to 35 for drinks and nibbles, with direct access to the upstairs bar. A minimum spend applies plus a $300 non-refundable deposit.
• Private Upstairs Complete - the Upstairs Lounge, Juniper Room and upstairs bar combined as a fully private area. Seats up to 35 for dining and up to 60 standing for drinks and nibbles. Minimum spend plus a $300 deposit.
• Entire venue hire - full access to both upstairs and downstairs bars plus the Upstairs Lounge and Juniper Room, accommodating up to 80 guests for drinks and nibbles. Minimum spend plus a $1,000 deposit.

### Catering, beverages and extras

Three function food packages are published: the Cardamom Package at $30 per person (minimum 6), the Ginger Package at $40 per person (minimum 10) and the Angelica Package at $65 per person (minimum 10). The venue notes these are sample menus, that dietary requirements can be accommodated, and that food offerings are confirmed at booking.

Arrival drink options include a gin and tonic at $12 per person, bubbles at $14 per person, or a bespoke cocktail at $20 per person. A gin tasting experience covering three New Zealand gins paired with tonics and garnishes, plus a gin-based cocktail on arrival, is offered at $60 per person (minimum 4), with the Cardamom food package available as an add-on.

For business use, Gin Gin offers a 50-inch smart TV screen on a conference trolley that connects via AirPlay from Apple devices or HDMI from a laptop, with a minimum of one week's notice. Aux connection for a personal playlist is available at no cost for Upstairs Complete or full-venue functions, and the team can help arrange live music - jazz trios, cover bands, DJs or solo artists - at additional cost.

### MICE fit

Gin Gin suits client entertaining, team celebrations, small corporate functions and pre- or post-conference drinks in the central city. The AV trolley and private upstairs area make it viable for a small presentation or product launch as well as a purely social booking. Gin Gin operates under a supervised licence, so under-18s must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Prices above are as published and should be confirmed at the time of enquiry.
