Hamilton City Holiday Park is at 14 Ruakura Road, a short distance east of the city centre, and describes itself as Hamilton's only holiday park. It is a member of the Holiday Accommodation Parks Association of New Zealand. The park combines cabin accommodation with powered and non-powered camping sites in a landscaped, tree-lined setting.
There are 20 cabins, split between self-contained and non self-contained options:
All cabins are non-smoking, include one car park space and free Wi-Fi. Camping sites, both powered and non-powered, are spread through the park.
Shared facilities include a communal kitchen with a family-sized fridge/freezer, two full cookers, a gas cooktop, microwave, three stainless steel sinks and ample bench and table seating. A ZIP boiler is available to large groups on request. There is a covered BBQ area, picnic benches, a children's playground, and a laundry with four cashless washers and dryers, a hand-washing sink, iron and ironing board and outdoor line space, open 8am to 8pm. Amenity blocks run gas-fired on-demand hot water, and a family and wheelchair-accessible bathroom is available on request. Free high-speed internet is provided. Pets are accepted by arrangement.
Claudelands Event Centre is about a 10-minute walk away, Hamilton Gardens roughly a half-hour stroll, and the Waikato Museum and city centre around 2km. A supermarket is a two-minute walk across the road. Raglan and Hobbiton are each about 45 minutes; Auckland and Rotorua about 90 minutes.
The park has no meeting or conference room. Its MICE role is budget and group accommodation, and the walking proximity to Claudelands makes it a practical option for delegates, exhibitors, trade-show crews and sporting or youth groups attending events there. The group booking enquiry channel and the ZIP boiler provision for large groups indicate the park handles group business regularly.
