Londo is an intimate restaurant and wine bar in Christchurch's Merivale district, at Unit 6, 2 Papanui Road. The room is small — seating is along the bar and at a handful of tables — and designed for communal dining, letting guests watch the kitchen at work.
Londo is the venture of chef-owner Robert "Bob" Fairs, who built his reputation as head chef at the acclaimed, now-closed Lyttelton restaurant Roots. The menu is à la carte and ever-changing, seasonally driven and focused on South Island produce and foraged ingredients, with dishes such as Brussels sprouts with stracciatella and wild onion, and crumbed pork sirloin with celeriac, apple and pickled walnuts. The wine programme leans to natural, organic and biodynamic bottles, including a house Londo Blanco collaboration.
The restaurant has been recognised with a MICHELIN Guide Bib Gourmand in 2026. Its small scale and chef-led format make Londo a strong fit for high-end incentive dinners, exclusive-use private dining and small executive gatherings in Christchurch.
