Loretta is a Mediterranean-inspired restaurant at 181 Cuba Street, Te Aro, Wellington. It opened in 2014. Hayden McMillan is listed as co-owner and general manager.
A wood-fired oven is used wherever possible, giving a smoky character to vegetables, proteins and some desserts. The menu includes seasonal sourdough pizzas, share plates, a whole or half chicken to share, chicken liver parfait with flatbreads and wood-fired cauliflower. Weekend brunch is also served, and there is a kids' menu.
The site was formerly a shopping arcade, and the original shopfront pillars remain in the dining room alongside exposed and polished concrete, pendant lighting, blond wood furniture and leather bench seating. Bar seats overlook the open kitchen.
According to Wellington NZ, the main restaurant seats 85 and a semi-private area at the back seats up to 45, which suits group dining and small functions. Confirm current arrangements with the venue.
