Mudbrick Vineyard & Restaurant on Waiheke Island was founded by Nick and Robyn Jones, who began planting the property from bare land in 1992 and opened the Mudbrick Cafe in 1995, building the business into one of the island's best-known dining destinations. The site overlooks the Hauraki Gulf with views back to Auckland city.
Two dining options operate on-site: the flagship Mudbrick restaurant, positioned as a romantic fine-dining experience, and the Archive, a more casual bistro serving island-inspired dishes. The vineyard produces hand-picked, Waiheke-specific wines described as award-winning, with cellar-master-led tastings and self-guided tours through the gardens and vines available to visitors.
Mudbrick hosts weddings as a core part of its business, and multiple accommodation options exist both on-site and off-site for overnight stays, extending its suitability to residential events and multi-day functions. A cellar shop sells the estate's wines, cold-pressed olive oil and gifts.
