Next Door is a small, drinks-led bar in Newtown, Wellington, at 163 Riddiford Street (with entry via Wilson Street). It sits alongside neighbourhood restaurant Margot, the two making up one of the suburb's best-known food-and-drink pairings, and is run by Wellington hospitality figures Tom Adam and Juno Miers.
Housed in a former phone shop, the bar seats only around 16 people and puts its focus firmly on the drinks and atmosphere. The offer includes a well-chosen list of natural wines, an extensive range of beers and sodas, and an ever-evolving cocktail menu, paired with bar snacks and a strong music selection. It opens most of the week, closing Sunday and Monday.
