The Otago Golf Club at Balmacewen is the oldest golf club in the southern hemisphere, founded in 1871. After early years at Caversham and Mornington, the club moved to its Balmacewen course in 1896; the men's and women's clubs amalgamated in 2009. The par-71 course is set beside undulating native bush with city and harbour views and has hosted the New Zealand Open seven times between 1908 and 1971.
The club features a large, comfortable clubhouse with panoramic views, a quality bar and cafeteria/restaurant facilities, and historic memorabilia. These spaces are available for conferences, weddings, celebrations and other functions.
Combining a heritage golf course with clubhouse function facilities, the Otago Golf Club suits corporate golf days, meetings, dinners and incentive events in a scenic Dunedin setting. Discover more Dunedin venues.
