Ratanui Lodge is a boutique lodge and restaurant at 818 Abel Tasman Drive, Pohara, near Takaka in Golden Bay. It sits about a minute's walk from Pohara Beach, roughly 10 minutes from the Takaka township and around 30 minutes from the northern entrance to Abel Tasman National Park. Te Waikoropupu Springs, Wainui Falls and Farewell Spit are all within comfortable driving distance, which makes the lodge a practical base for touring and incentive itineraries in the Nelson Tasman region.

### The offer

The lodge has ten guest rooms, all contemporary in style and each sleeping two in a super king or two single beds. Rooms have spacious ensuites with locally made bath products, plus smart TVs, free WiFi, tea and coffee facilities, ironing facilities, a fridge and robes. Total overnight capacity is around 20 guests. The property underwent a major refurbishment programme during winter 2021.

Shared facilities include an outdoor heated saltwater pool and spa, lush gardens, a cocktail and lounge bar, and an on-site restaurant open seven days for breakfast, cocktails and dinner. The bar and dining room open onto a sunny verandah.

### Meetings and events

Ratanui Lodge markets directly to the group and event segment. Exclusive-use bookings are available, giving a single organiser the whole lodge for up to around 20 overnight guests, with capacity for a further 40 guests to join dining events. The Tarakohe Room provides a versatile indoor space for smaller ceremonies, private dining and meetings. The lodge lists day meetings, corporate retreats, private celebrations and weddings among the event types it handles.

### Suitability

Ratanui Lodge is well matched to executive retreats, leadership offsites, incentive rewards and small board-level meetings where an exclusive-use, single-site property with in-house dining is the point. Its scale rules out conventional conferences, but for high-value small groups wanting a Golden Bay setting with a pool, bar, restaurant and beach access on the doorstep, it is a strong candidate.
