Riverside Park is an outdoor events venue in the centre of Taupō, on the banks of the Waikato River adjacent to the Tongariro North Domain. Surrounded by mature trees and with river views, the park is home to the Unison Amphitheatre, a grassed outdoor arena with a permanent stage.
The grassed amphitheatre can hold very large audiences — in the order of 15,000 people — making it Taupō's principal venue for major outdoor concerts and community celebrations. The wider park includes scenic picnic areas and accessible walking paths.
The venue hosts regular community events such as Carols in the Park and New Year's Eve concerts, and has staged the annual Taupō Summer Concert and touring winery-tour concerts featuring leading New Zealand and international artists.
For MICE and event organisers, Riverside Park & Amphitheatre is best suited to large-scale outdoor functions, festivals, concerts and public events rather than seated indoor conferences. Bookings for the park and amphitheatre are handled through Taupō District Council. For other options in the area, see Taupō venues.
