The Rotorua Energy Events Centre (Te Whare Pungao o Rotorua) is a multipurpose events venue at the edge of Lake Rotorua within Government Gardens. It is owned by Rotorua Lakes Council and operated by Events & Venues Rotorua, and is within walking distance of retail, accommodation, restaurants and spa facilities.
The centre opened in February 2007 and holds over ten separate spaces. The Unison Arena is the largest, with theatre-style capacity of up to around 4,000 and the ability to divide into three sections; the Grand Hall can hold around 2,130 for a cocktail-style function; the Southern Trust Sportsdrome holds around 1,210 theatre style; and the Bay Trust Forum holds around 850 theatre style. Five smaller breakout rooms each hold roughly 70–110 theatre style, giving flexibility for concurrent sessions alongside a larger event.
The venue supports conferences, exhibitions, banquets, sporting events and concerts, with in-house catering, audio-visual capability, ticketing, transport coordination, exhibition setup and theming services available. As a sporting venue it has hosted ANZ Premiership netball as an alternate home for the Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic, and hosted a New Zealand Breakers National Basketball League game in 2021.
With arena-scale capacity of up to around 4,000 alongside a range of smaller halls and breakout rooms, the Energy Events Centre suits conferences, exhibitions, banquets and large-scale events in Rotorua.
