Sails Restaurant

Sails Restaurant is located in Westhaven Marina at 103-113 Westhaven Drive, minutes from Auckland's city centre. Westhaven is described on the restaurant's website as the largest marina in the Southern Hemisphere. The restaurant has two levels of seating overlooking the yachts, with views toward the Auckland Harbour Bridge, North Head and Rangitoto Island. The main room is a large open-plan space with high ceilings, and a covered portico entrance.

The Littlejohn family owns and leads the business, and the website says the restaurant has been operating for about three decades. The website lists a main menu, wine list, function menu, vegetarian menu and a winter set menu, and runs an annual crayfish promotion, which it says has continued for 15 years. It also states that the restaurant has won numerous food and service awards; specific awards are not itemised on the page reviewed.

As published, it is closed Monday and Tuesday, serves dinner only on Wednesday and Saturday, and lunch and dinner Thursday, Friday and Sunday. Free parking is available at the door and on the marina.
