Tauranga Golf Club

Tauranga Golf Club is located on the Racecourse Reserve off Cameron Road at Greerton, roughly ten minutes from Tauranga's city centre. The club dates from 1904, which makes it one of the older golf clubs in New Zealand.

The course

The course is an 18-hole, par-71 layout of around 5,585 yards. It sits on notably undulating ground alongside the much flatter Tauranga racecourse, with tree-lined fairways and greens that are consistently well regarded. Among the better-known holes are the downhill, dog-legging par-4 3rd and the par-3 12th, known as the Knoll. Tee times can be booked online or through the clubhouse, and the club runs tournaments and events through the year.

Clubhouse, food and beverage

The clubhouse is the club's social centre and includes a bar and café providing refreshments and meals for members and visitors.

Meeting and event capability

The club has two spaces that can be hired for meetings, conferences and functions, and can accommodate groups of 200 or more. It takes corporate groups and private functions, and offers corporate golf day packages that combine course access, event organisation and catering — the usual format for client entertainment, incentive rewards and team-building days.

There is no accommodation on site, so a residential conference would be based at CBD or Mount Maunganui hotels, with the club used for the golf and function elements of the programme. Organisers planning a seated conference should confirm room layouts, AV and catering options directly with the club.

Suitability

Tauranga Golf Club suits corporate golf days, club and business functions, awards or prizegiving dinners and incentive activity, backed by a long-established course close to the city. Its proximity to Greerton and Cameron Road makes it straightforward to reach from most of Tauranga.
