Te Awamutu Events Centre

Te Awamutu Events Centre is the Waipā district's main indoor arena, on the corner of Selwyn Lane and Mahoe Street in central Te Awamutu, about half an hour south of Hamilton. It is operated by GoWaipa, the Waipā District Council's community facilities arm, and forms part of a wider complex that also houses Livingstone Aquatics and the Club Waipa gym.

The centre is built around a multi-purpose stadium with indoor netball and basketball courts, seating up to 800 spectators. The large, open hall converts readily for expos, trade displays, community gatherings, school events, prize-givings and sports tournaments. A meeting room seating up to 20 is available alongside it, with a TV, Wi-Fi and kitchen facilities — suitable for a committee meeting, AGM, training session or event organiser's base.

The venue is available to hire seven days a week, with hire windows running from early morning to late evening, and bookings are made through GoWaipa. Publicly available information does not include theatre, banquet or cocktail capacity figures, floor area or in-house catering arrangements, so organisers should confirm these directly.

For MICE purposes this is a practical regional venue rather than a full conference centre: strongest for exhibitions, expos, sports events, community and school functions, and small meetings of up to 20 people.
