The Halswell is a pub, dining room and function venue at 344 Halswell Road in the Halswell suburb of Christchurch. It operates as a family-friendly gathering place combining a restaurant, bar, outdoor area and dedicated event spaces, and also offers accommodation.
The venue pairs relaxed pub dining with flexible indoor and outdoor areas. Alongside the main restaurant, a private function room — the Living Room — provides a self-contained space for gatherings, fitted with a TV for presentations and slideshows and able to be paired with the outdoor area for additional room.
The Halswell is well set up for MICE and private functions. The dedicated function room holds up to 50 guests for standing cocktail events or up to 30 seated for dinner, while the entire venue can be booked out for larger occasions of up to 500. Flexible layouts and in-house catering make it suitable for team meetings, corporate functions, work events and milestone celebrations, and the on-site accommodation supports small residential gatherings.
