The Oyster Inn is a boutique restaurant and three-room hotel in Oneroa village on Waiheke Island, around 35 minutes by ferry from downtown Auckland. It is owned and led by chef Josh Emett, whose coastal-inspired bistro menu centres on simple, ingredient-led dishes, including daily oysters from the island's Te Matuku farm and other seafood and seasonal produce sourced locally and sustainably where possible.
The three boutique rooms feature raftered ceilings, super-king beds and Aesop toiletries, giving the Inn a small residential-stay option alongside its dining. Three separate spaces — including the Pearl Room — are available for private events, weddings and corporate functions, and the restaurant occupies a beachside position over Oneroa Bay with a sunny verandah.
Described as a "Waiheke institution," it trades for lunch on Mondays and lunch and dinner Thursday to Sunday. The combination of accommodation, function space and beachfront dining makes it a practical small venue for residential meetings or incentive stays on Waiheke Island.
