The Ram is a contemporary bar and eatery at 103 Cuba Street, in the heart of Te Aro, Wellington. Styled as a relaxed bar-meets-pub, it pairs a modern bistro sensibility with the laid-back atmosphere Cuba Street is known for, offering refined takes on pub classics alongside a considered wine list and Negronis on tap.
The kitchen leans into shareable plates and gastropub fare — oysters, croquettes and ceviche through to heavier dishes such as eggplant parmigiana and pork cutlet — with a menu that rewards both a quick drink and nibbles or a longer sit-down meal. The Ram is owned by Victoria McDowall and Harry McArthur, who also run the nearby Cuba Street sandwich spot Freds. The name is a nod to Victoria's great-grandparents, who ran a London pub called The Ram in the early 1900s.
For MICE organisers, The Ram suits informal group dining, post-conference drinks and small social gatherings in Wellington's central hospitality precinct, within walking distance of Courtenay Place venues and the city's Wellington restaurants. Its central location and casual, sociable format make it a practical option for delegate dinners and networking occasions.
