About The Styx

The Styx is a waterfront restaurant at 272 Wakefield Quay, Nelson, overlooking the Tasman Sea. It opened in November 2012 and describes its focus as hospitality and unpretentious coastal cuisine.

Food and drink

The scratch-cooked menu runs from breakfast through dinner, changes seasonally and includes daily specials. The venue highlights fresh fish, daily baked breads and a seafood chowder it describes as world famous. It lists 17 wines by the glass and says menus can accommodate all dietary requirements.

Functions

The Styx has a private bar for events and says it hosts over 200 functions a year, from 15 to 170 guests, coordinated by an events team. Feasting Table and Communal Table menus are available. It is open Wednesday to Sunday and closed Monday, Tuesday and public holidays; groups of six or more should call, and larger bookings need more than 48 hours' notice.

It suits conference dinners and incentive functions in Nelson. Google rating: 4.6. See also Nelson venues.
