TSB Stadium at 1 Rogan Street is New Plymouth's large-format indoor events venue, operated by New Plymouth District Council through New Plymouth Event Venues. It is a multi-purpose recreation and events centre built around a large clear-span floor, which allows it to switch between sport, concerts, exhibitions, trade shows, conventions, gala dinners and community events.
Published figures vary by configuration and by source. Venue and trade listings record a total capacity of 3,518, with roughly 2,500 for expos, 2,410 for sport, 2,518 for performances and up to 1,000 for banquet dining. Other published trade listings quote higher conference-style and standing figures. Organisers should confirm the exact configuration limits with the venue team, but the practical planning range for a seated dinner is up to around 1,000 and for an exhibition or expo up to around 2,500.
The stadium's value to conference and exhibition organisers is the clear floor. A single uninterrupted 2,200 square metre space takes trade show booths, vehicle and machinery displays, product launches and large banquet layouts without structural obstruction, and the mezzanine gives a secondary space for breakouts or a pre-dinner function. An in-house caterer services the venue and an experienced operations team assists with event planning, which reduces the number of suppliers an organiser has to coordinate.
The stadium opened in 1992 and has hosted sporting, cultural and commercial events since. It is about five minutes from the New Plymouth CBD, close to a range of accommodation providers, with generous parking immediately outside - a meaningful advantage for consumer expos and trade shows where visitors arrive by car.
The natural choice among New Plymouth venues for exhibitions, trade shows, large conventions, awards dinners and concert-scale events that outgrow the region's theatre and hotel spaces.
