Venues Wellington operates five civic venues in and near Wellington's city centre and waterfront. It is run under the WellingtonNZ umbrella, with the Michael Fowler Centre at 111 Wakefield Street as a main address.

### The venues

• Michael Fowler Centre: described as a landmark of Wellington's cultural and civic scene, hosting concerts, conferences and exhibitions.
• TSB Arena: described as Wellington's biggest indoor venue, used for conferences, exhibitions, concerts and sport.
• St James Theatre: a historic theatre building used for theatre and dance, including the Royal New Zealand Ballet.
• The Opera House: described as the home of comedy.
• Shed 6: a pillarless floor with retractable soundproof walls, suited to concerts, conferences and smaller events.
