Waikākā Church is a restored century-old chapel at the base of Coronet Peak, on Coronet Peak Station Road, about 15 minutes from central Queenstown.
The chapel has been meticulously restored and sits within wrap-around lawns and gardens beside the Mill Stream. The interior is bright, with arched windows, and the building has ducted heating and cooling — which matters in a district where an event can run from alpine cold to high-country heat within a season.
A lofted deck area provides AV space, and there is a helicopter landing area on site.
The venue accommodates gatherings of up to 140 guests and is set up to host a full day on one site: ceremony, drinks and reception without moving the group. Ceremony locations are flexible — under the arched windows, beside the Mill Stream, or inside with a full AV setup.
Waikākā is primarily a wedding and celebration venue, but the same attributes translate well to incentive travel and small corporate programmes: exclusive use, a distinctive heritage building, an alpine backdrop, indoor and outdoor options in one place, and helicopter access for a genuine arrival moment. At 140 guests it fits gala dinners, awards evenings, launch events and closing functions rather than large plenary conferences.
