Waters Edge Venue is a hireable function lounge at Memorial Park, 300 Devonport Road, Tauranga, occupying the upper level above the Tauranga Rowing Club. It looks directly out over Tauranga Harbour, and its position within the park keeps it reasonably separated from neighbouring residential properties — useful for events running into the evening.

The space

The venue centres on a single light-filled, air-conditioned lounge with an adjoining deck overlooking the water. Tables and chairs are supplied for up to 120 seated guests, and the room includes a dance floor. It is a self-contained, one-room venue rather than a multi-room conference centre, so it works best for single-group events.

Meetings and events

The combination of projector, screen, sound and a flat, air-conditioned room makes Waters Edge workable for day meetings, seminars, training sessions, AGMs, workshops and small conferences, as well as the weddings, receptions and community functions it is well known for. At 120 seated it suits small to mid-size groups; theatre-style numbers for a presentation-only format would typically be higher than the seated-dining figure, so it is worth confirming layouts with the venue.

Catering and beverages

Catering is not provided in-house. Instead, the commercial kitchen is available for the hirer's chosen caterer, and the venue can recommend local caterers already familiar with the space. There is no bar operating on site — beverages, including alcohol, are BYO. Organisers should factor in bar staffing and licensing arrangements accordingly.
