Kahlo Mexican Cooking School is a Christchurch cooking-class operator focused on authentic Mexican cuisine. It was founded to share genuine Mexican food with Christchurch, and is run by a Mexico City native who has lived in New Zealand for well over a decade. The school takes its name from the Mexican painter and cultural icon Frida Kahlo.
Its core format is in-home cooking classes for groups: participants cook and then eat the food in their own kitchen, with all recipes provided to take away and recreate at home. Classes run for groups from a minimum of around six people, and vegetarian, vegan, dairy-free and gluten-free options are available.
For MICE and incentive organisers, Kahlo Mexican Cooking School offers an interactive, hands-on group activity well suited to team building, incentive programmes and social event add-ons in Christchurch, brought to a chosen kitchen or venue.
