Groove DJs

About this business

Groove DJs — trading as Groove DJ Entertainment Limited — is a Tauranga-based DJ and event entertainment company founded by husband-and-wife team Patrick and Rosie Visser. The business operates from Ohauiti in Tauranga and covers the Bay of Plenty, Waikato and beyond, travelling to rural and off-grid locations using its own mobile power and internet solutions.

### Services

Beyond DJ performance, Groove DJs presents itself as a full-service entertainment and AV supplier:

• DJ and MC services for corporate events, weddings, school balls and discos, birthday parties and private functions
• Live sound — professional audio setup and reinforcement
• AV and live streaming — projectors, screens and event livestreaming
• Photo booth hire with instant prints, backdrop and print options, and packages configured for weddings, corporate events and school balls
• Lighting and effects — ambient uplighting, RGB animation lasers, haze, and "dancing in the clouds" dry ice for first dances
• Décor hire including LOVE marquee letters

A sister business, Groove Laser Design, produces laser-engraved décor and signage such as guestbooks and ring boxes.

### Track record

The company says it has been working in Bay of Plenty event entertainment for over a decade and has performed at hundreds of weddings, and it lists Eagle Ridge Estate among the venues that recommend it. Events it names on its own site include Bubbles in the Bay, the CNZ Masquerade Ball, Battle of the Brave and the Paeroa Highland Games. Patrick Visser also has live production experience, including sound engineering for Kora and Left Hand Brake. Groove DJs promotes its own ticketed events as well, among them the Costumiers' Fantasy Masquerade Ball.

### For conference and event organisers

For MICE buyers, Groove DJs is most relevant to the social side of a programme — gala and awards dinners, welcome functions, conference after-parties, fundraisers and end-of-year celebrations — where one supplier can cover sound, lighting, a photo booth and MC duties under a single booking. The live sound and livestreaming lines also make it a candidate for smaller meeting and function AV in the Bay of Plenty and Waikato.

Quote requests are handled through two separate forms, one for corporate and other events and one for weddings. The office is open Monday to Friday, with weekends by appointment, and the company advises booking early during peak wedding season. Listed among Tauranga AV suppliers in the MICE directory.
