Extreme Edge Panmure is an indoor rock climbing centre in Panmure, Auckland, described as New Zealand's largest indoor climbing centre. The venue occupies a former aircraft hangar — roughly the footprint of a quarter-acre section, and at its highest point about the height of a four-storey building.

### The facility

• 60 top ropes, giving access to over 200 climbing routes at any one time
• A separate large overhanging wall reserved for lead climbing
• Routes and problems set for all skill levels, from first-timers to experienced climbers
• Classes and coaching, from Rock Hoppers youth programmes through to adult private sessions

### Groups and corporate events

The centre actively markets to groups, listing birthday parties, school trips and scout groups alongside corporate business events and team building. Two points make it practical for MICE use: no experience is necessary, so a mixed-ability delegate group can all take part, and groups of 10 or more receive a discount on entry.

Typical MICE applications are conference social programmes, incentive-trip activity slots, and half-day team-building sessions for corporate offsites — particularly useful as a weather-independent Auckland option when an outdoor activity would be a risk. Belay-based climbing also lends itself naturally to paired trust and communication exercises.
