eRide Waiheke is an electric bike hire and guided tour operator on Waiheke Island, based inside the Matiatia Ferry Terminal — the arrival point for ferries from downtown Auckland. The location matters operationally: groups step off the ferry and onto bikes without a transfer in between.
The operator hires premium Merida e-bikes, with the electric assistance flattening the island's hills, which is what makes the terrain accessible to a mixed-fitness corporate group. Every hire includes a safety briefing, helmet, lock, pannier bag, phone mount and personalised route planning through the operator's multilingual Waiheke Guide app.
The best-known route is the Five Bays Ride, a self-guided 25–30 km loop taking in beaches, wineries, coastal viewpoints and swimming spots.
eRide runs guided e-bike tours led by local guides, and caters specifically for group bookings, corporate events and team days, special occasions and private experiences, with tours able to be customised to a group's requirements.
Open seven days, 9am to 5.30pm. All riders must be at least 12 years old and over 145 cm tall.
For meetings and events organisers, this is a strong Auckland incentive and team-day option: a half or full day out of the city, self-paced, with vineyards and beaches built into the route. It pairs naturally with a winery lunch to fill a full conference free day, and the app-based route planning means a group can split into sub-groups at different paces without needing multiple guides.
