Auckland surgery-oncology conference listed for 2 September traces back to a template running in more than a thousand city-date slots

MICE editorial — 31 August 2026 Auckland Tier B

A listing in our directory places the International Conference on Recent Trends in General Surgery and Oncology (ICRTGSO) in Auckland on 2 September 2026. Checked on 31 August 2026, conferencealert.com's Auckland and Auckland-September pages carry no such entry, and no standalone event website exists. The trail ends at globalconference.co, whose single ICRTGSO page repeats the same conference title across more than 1,500 dated city slots worldwide — 28 of them in Auckland in late 2026 alone — with no venue, no address and no named committee anywhere. New Zealand's actual general surgery and oncology calendar sits elsewhere.

A listing in our directory places the International Conference on Recent Trends in General Surgery and Oncology (ICRTGSO) in Auckland on 2 September 2026, with no venue and no organiser recorded. We traced the source chain to see whether a real business event sits behind it.

What the aggregator actually says

The cited source is conferencealert.com's Auckland index. Fetched on 31 August 2026, that page carries no ICRTGSO entry at all. Its "Top Conferences in Auckland 2026" panel shows six events, every one of them in October 2026, credited to organiser labels such as "Global Institute for Science, Technology and Research" and "All Conference Series". None of the six names a venue — each gives only "Auckland, New Zealand".

The site's Auckland September 2026 page and its New Zealand September 2026 page both render with the calendar furniture, filters, FAQ and blog panels intact, but with no event entries between them. On the evidence of the pages as served, conferencealert.com is not currently advertising any Auckland conference in September 2026, ICRTGSO included. The site does state that its listings "undergo our Verification Standards" and links an event removal policy.

No event website exists

There is no standalone official site for ICRTGSO. Every trail leads to another listing platform: allconferencealert.com, conferencealerts.co.in, freeconferencealerts.com, conferencealerts.info, internationalconferencealerts.com, waset.org and conferenceindex.org all carry the same title in different cities.

The most detailed record we found is allconferencealert.com's ICRTGSO page, which describes a 15 March 2026 edition in El Paso, Texas. That page names the organiser as "Global Conference", gives a Gmail contact address, and a generic single-day agenda — check-in, inaugural address, coffee break, keynote, technical session, networking lunch, closing ceremony — offered in identical physical and virtual versions. The location field is the city name only. Its "venue map" is a Google Maps embed of the query string "El Paso". The site's own footer gives a corporate address in Khandagiri, Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India.

The controlling organisation

Following the registration link reaches globalconference.co, the page for ICRTGSO. It is a single page that lists the same conference title against an alphabetical roll of world cities and multiple 2026 dates each — Aalborg, Aarhus, Abbotsford, Abha, Abu Dhabi, Abuja, Accra, Adana, Addis Ababa, Addu, Adelaide, Ajman and onward. Our capture of that page counted 1,541 dated city-date entries and was truncated while still in the "D" cities, so the true figure is higher.

Auckland appears 28 times on that page across September to December 2026. Seven of those fall in September alone: the 2nd, 8th, 14th, 19th, 23rd, 25th and 29th. The listed date in our directory, 2 September 2026, is one entry in that block. The same 2 September 2026 date also appears on the same page against Abha, Saudi Arabia and Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, among 17 cities sharing that single date.

We searched the globalconference.co ICRTGSO page for the words venue, hotel, address, registration, committee, speaker and publication. None appears. There is no named scientific committee with verifiable members, no chair, no host institution, no New Zealand postal address and no NZ contact. The only contact identified anywhere in the chain is a Gmail address.

A parallel pattern shows on conferenceindex.org, which returns exactly ten oncology events for New Zealand across 2026, 2027 and 2028. All ten are in Auckland, five stacked on 3 December 2026 and the same five titles restacked on 2 December 2027 — including an "International Conference on Advancements in General Surgery and Oncology (ICAGSO)", a near-twin of the ICRTGSO title.

Where the real sector meeting is

New Zealand's surgical profession does hold a national scientific meeting, and it is not in Auckland this September. The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons' Aotearoa New Zealand activities page states that the next AoNZ Annual Scientific Meeting runs as part of the RACS Founders Centenary, "Evolution Through Necessity", from Thursday 11 to Saturday 13 February 2027 in Dunedin, with ASM days on the Friday and Saturday, a Centenary dinner at Larnach Castle, and a published topic list covering surgical training, unmet need in health and surgical innovation. On the oncology side, the New Zealand Society for Oncology's conference page was still displaying its Rotorua meeting of 27-29 January when we checked.

What we could not confirm

We could not confirm a venue, an organising body registered in New Zealand, a programme, a speaker, a delegate estimate or a single verifiable committee member for the Auckland ICRTGSO date. We are not asserting that no gathering will occur; we are reporting that after working the full source chain, nothing in it distinguishes 2 September 2026 in Auckland from the 1,500-plus other date-and-city slots carrying the same title. Both allconferencealert.com and conferencealert.com provide report and removal mechanisms for listings that readers believe are inaccurate.
