The Library and Information Association of New Zealand Aotearoa runs its conference biennially, and its own site shows the most recent edition took place at Tākina in Wellington from 23 to 25 September 2025. Nothing on lianza.org.nz supports a 2026 edition.
LIANZA — Te Rau Herenga o Aotearoa, the Library and Information Association of New Zealand Aotearoa — describes its conference on its own event calendar as biennial, and as the largest gathering of library and information professionals in the country, bringing together over 500 delegates from New Zealand and around the world.
The most recent edition was LIANZA 2025, held at Tākina Wellington Convention and Exhibition Centre from 23 to 25 September 2025 under the theme *Ko au te taiao, ko te taiao ko au — Sustaining and Changing*, with keynotes including Dr Karaitiana Taiuru, Melissa Clark-Reynolds, Dr Monty Soutar and IFLA President-elect Te Paea Paringatai.
No 2026 edition appears anywhere on lianza.org.nz, and a delegate report published by LIANZA in December 2025 explicitly encourages colleagues to apply for a 2027 conference grant — consistent with the biennial cycle placing the next conference in 2027, not October 2026. An October 2026 date and Tākina venue circulating for a "LIANZA Conference 2026" are therefore treated as unverified and are not carried forward.
