PMAANZ holds its 2026 national annual conference for medical practice managers and administrators at Wellington's Michael Fowler Centre from 17-19 September 2026.
The Practice Managers and Administrators Association of New Zealand (PMAANZ) will hold its 2026 Annual Conference at the Michael Fowler Centre in Wellington Te Whanganui-a-Tara from 17 to 19 September 2026, according to the association's official conference website. The gathering draws the country's medical practice-management community into the capital for a programme of keynotes, sector briefings and peer networking.
PMAANZ, established in 1996 as an incorporated society, represents practice managers, administrators and the wider profession of practice management across the health sector. Its About Us page states the association has more than 400 members, is governed by a seven-member National Executive Board, and runs a national annual conference that also hosts its AGM and the Practice Manager of the Year award. PMAANZ says it is regularly consulted on industry matters by Health New Zealand / Te Whatu Ora and ACC. The 2026 conference is being delivered with professional conference organiser Conference Innovators, whose events calendar lists the event for September 2026 in Wellington.
The conference is designed specifically for practice managers and administrators from general, allied health, specialist, physiotherapy, dental and multi-disciplinary practices. The event site sets out a main conference programme alongside a masterclass and a dedicated Receptionists' Day, with keynote speakers, hands-on learning and networking across Aotearoa New Zealand. Jen Kaponga is named as Conference Chair, and registrations are open.
The Michael Fowler Centre sits on Wellington's central waterfront, within walking distance of the city's CBD hotels and the waterfront precinct, and the conference site carries a dedicated accommodation page for delegates. Wellington Airport lies roughly 8 kilometres south-east of the city centre, connected to the CBD by taxi, rideshare and the Airport Express bus, making the venue straightforward to reach for delegates travelling from around the country.
As the sector's established annual meeting for medical practice administrators, the PMAANZ conference is a recurring fixture on New Zealand's association-events calendar, rotating between main centres and drawing several hundred delegates from the primary and allied health sectors. Its 2026 return to a marquee Wellington venue underlines the capital's standing for mid-sized association conferences.
