Addington Raceway & Events Centre is one of Christchurch's largest and most flexible event complexes, located in the suburb of Addington just minutes from the CBD. Best known as the home of Canterbury harness racing, it doubles as a substantial conference and events venue with extensive indoor and outdoor space.
The centre offers a large selection of venues, reported as more than 15 individual spaces, ranging in size from around 110 m² to 782 m², complemented by roughly ten meeting rooms and seven small private suites. Individual rooms cater for groups from about 10 to 600 people, while the wider facility can hold standing crowds of up to around 3,000 or seated audiences near 1,000. A grandstand, racetrack and in-field lawn area are also available for hire alongside the indoor venues.
This scale and flexibility make Addington suitable for conferences, exhibitions, product launches, seminars, workshops, gala dinners and large private functions, as well as raceday hospitality. Plentiful free on-site parking and a location close to the city centre add to its practicality for both commercial and community events.
For organisers needing configurable space at volume in one location, Addington Raceway & Events Centre is a well-established Christchurch option. Explore more Christchurch venues.
