Alpine Hotel Christchurch

Alpine Hotel Christchurch is a 21-room hotel at 8 Yaldhurst Road in Upper Riccarton, on the western approach to the Christchurch CBD. It opened in March 2019, making it one of the newer purpose-built accommodation properties in this part of the city.

Rooms

The hotel has 21 rooms across twin, king double, family and interconnecting configurations. Rooms are fitted with air conditioning, a working desk, digital TV with Netflix, and a kitchenette area with sink, microwave, fridge, plates and cutlery — a specification closer to a serviced apartment than a standard hotel room, which suits multi-night stays. Many rooms open onto an outdoor terrace.

Facilities

On site there is a fully licensed restaurant, a bar, room service, an ATM and free WiFi. Undercover secure car parking is provided, and the hotel operates a 24-hour check-in service — useful for delegates arriving on late flights.

Location and MICE relevance

The hotel sits roughly midway between Christchurch International Airport and the city centre, about ten minutes' drive to either, with Riccarton Park Racecourse and the University of Canterbury around five minutes away. That positioning makes it a practical accommodation option for delegates attending events at Riccarton Park, the university, or venues in the Addington and Riccarton precincts, and for organisers who need airport-adjacent rooms without paying central-city rates.

The property is listed here as accommodation rather than as a conference venue; groups requiring meeting space should confirm what can be arranged in the restaurant or bar areas directly with the hotel. For dedicated meeting facilities in the same city, see Christchurch venues.
