Haere-roa is a purpose-built venue at 90 Ilam Road, Ilam, Christchurch, for functions, conferences, corporate events and live concerts. It is operated by the University of Canterbury Students' Association (the venue enquiry email is a ucsa.org.nz address).
The venue describes itself as designed for future generations. Its name reflects manaakitanga (hospitality) and whakapapa (connection to people and land), and its design draws on Te Aranga Māori design principles. The design also aims to respect water and land, enhance native flora and fauna, and reduce the building's impact on its site.
The venue offers flexible venue hire, in-house catering and premium audio-visual facilities. Individual room names and capacities are not set out on its homepage, which directs visitors to a Venues section and a virtual tour, so planners should confirm room sizes and layouts with the functions team (functions@ucsa.org.nz, 03 369 0555).
The campus-adjacent Ilam location suits conferences, graduations-style gatherings, corporate events and concerts. See also Christchurch venues.
