Argent Motor Lodge is an apartment-style motor lodge on Lorne Street in central Hamilton, open since 2012. All rooms were completely refurbished in 2024.

Rooms

The property offers five room types:

• Studio Super King Apartment — super-king bed that splits into two full-size singles
• Studio King Apartment — king bed, two-seater sofa, large desk and workstation with a wall-mounted TV
• Studio Access Apartment — ground-level, designed for easy access, with a splittable super-king bed
• Deluxe One Bedroom Apartment — separate bedroom with its own TV, double-ended bath
• Premier Two Bedroom Apartment — sleeps up to six with a range of bedding configurations

All rooms have fully equipped kitchens, hush glass for sound insulation, air conditioning with heating and cooling, blackout curtains, free Wi-Fi and Sky TV. Every unit has flat-access walk-in showers, and all one- and two-bedroom apartments have a full-size double-ended bath. Some apartments have their own outdoor area. Family rooms accommodate up to five, wheelchair-accessible units are available and disability facilities can be arranged on request.

Guest facilities include free parking, continental breakfast and non-smoking rooms throughout. The lodge also runs a complimentary shuttle for guests attending hospital appointments, operating 6.45am to 9.45am and 6pm to 6.30pm, seven days.

Recognition

Argent states it has won the TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice Award for 12 consecutive years (2013–2025), the Hotels.com 2017 Gold Award and a 2023 Trivago national award for Top 10 value for money in New Zealand.

Location and MICE fit

The lodge is a three-minute drive from the Hamilton city centre, Hamilton Lake and Hamilton Gardens, and a two-minute walk from Braemar Hospital with Waikato Hospital closer still.

There is no dedicated conference or meeting room on site, so Argent is best used as delegate accommodation rather than a venue. The desk-equipped king studios suit individual corporate travellers, and the two-bedroom apartments work for delegates travelling with family or sharing. It is a practical base for conferences at nearby Hamilton venues, with events at Claudelands Event Centre and Waikato Stadium a short drive across the city.
