Artica Art & Accommodation is a boutique bed and breakfast at 20 Currie Street, Port Chalmers, about 15 minutes from central Dunedin. The house was built in 1863 and is described as one of the oldest in Port Chalmers, retaining many of its original features.
### Accommodation
Guest accommodation is a single ground-floor studio containing one furnished bedroom with a queen bed, a seating area, a walk-in wardrobe and a large ensuite bathroom. Guests have their own entrance and a private deck in the front garden. The studio includes tea and coffee making facilities, a toaster and small fridge, a flat-screen TV with DVD player and free WiFi. Free private parking is available on site.
### Art
The studio doubles as an art gallery. Artica is run by a Port Chalmers-based artist, and some of the handcrafted work displayed in the room is available for purchase.
### Location
Port Chalmers' main street, with its cafes, pubs, galleries, shops and supermarket, is a few minutes' walk away, and the harbourside village is a common stop for cruise passengers and visitors heading up the harbour.
### Suitability for business and event travel
With one studio and no meeting rooms, Artica is not a conference venue. It suits an individual delegate, a speaker or a couple attending an event in Dunedin who would rather stay in a quiet heritage setting outside the city, and it fits naturally into arts- or culture-led incentive itineraries. Group meeting space would need to be arranged at separate Dunedin venues.
