Beachside Nelson Conference & Events Centre

Beachside Nelson Conference & Events Centre is a dedicated conference and function venue at 70 Beach Road in Tahunanui, on the edge of Tahunanui Beach at the western end of Nelson. It operates as a standalone events business rather than as part of a hotel, so it suits organisers who want a purpose-run meeting space in a coastal setting with straightforward logistics. The centre is about a five-minute drive from Nelson Airport and roughly ten minutes from the Nelson city centre, with on-site parking available.

Meeting and event spaces

Four spaces are available. The Kotuku Room is the largest, measuring approximately 16.5m x 10m and seating up to 150. It opens onto its own balcony with outdoor tables and chairs, and looks out over the beach and the inlet. The Tui Room seats up to 60. The Tawa Room and the Boardroom each take up to 20 people and are commonly used as breakout rooms alongside a larger plenary session.

That mix supports a single-stream conference of up to about 150 delegates with two or three concurrent breakouts, as well as smaller board meetings, training days, workshops and seminars. Standard technical inclusions are Wi-Fi, data projectors with screens or wall-mounted televisions with HDMI connectivity, whiteboards, lecterns and microphones.

Catering and accommodation

Catering is handled in-house, and the venue advises that room hire is offered only in conjunction with its own catering and bar service — self-catering and BYO venue hire are not available. Beachside describes its catering as award-winning. For residential programmes, the centre works alongside the adjacent Tāhuna Beach Holiday Park for delegate accommodation, which keeps travel between rooms and sessions to a short walk.

Beachside Nelson is a practical fit for conferences, AGMs, training programmes, awards dinners and incentive functions of up to around 150 people, particularly where a beachfront setting close to the airport is an advantage.
