Bings Motel

About this place

Bings Motel is a large-format motel complex at 29 Maxwell Road in Blenheim, positioned close to the town centre. The property describes itself as the closest motel to the town centre, a short walk from the supermarket and main shopping centre, with an easy walk to the theatre and convention centre, the gym, the stadium and the cinema. For conference and event organisers working in Marlborough, that walkability to Blenheim's main event venues is the key point of difference.

### Units

Accommodation is self-contained throughout, with a mix of:

• Studio units — suited to solo travellers and couples
• One-bedroom units — with a separate lounge
• Two-bedroom units — with a separate lounge and additional sleeping space for groups or families

All units have their own kitchen facilities and bathroom. The larger one- and two-bedroom units are listed as having a full kitchen and a washing machine, which makes them practical for extended work stays and relocating staff.

### In-room facilities

Units are described as warm and fully equipped, with kitchenettes, free Wi-Fi and a smart TV.

### On-site amenities

The site is unusually well provisioned for a Blenheim motel:

• A meeting room, used by visiting sports groups — the most relevant feature for small-group business use
• Two self-service guest laundries with washing machines and dryers
• Recreation facilities including tennis, basketball, billiards, table tennis and darts
• A free shuttle service
• Large parking areas with space for trailers, campervans and buses

### Meetings and functions

Bings Motel has an on-site meeting room, which sets it apart from most motels in the Blenheim market. It is used primarily by sporting groups travelling together, so it is best suited to team briefings, small workshops, training sessions and delegate breakouts rather than formal conferences. Capacity, layout options, audiovisual equipment and catering arrangements should be confirmed directly with the operator.

### Suitability for business travel and delegate accommodation

The combination of a mixed unit inventory, an on-site meeting room, two guest laundries and bus-capable parking makes this one of the more group-ready motels in Blenheim. Sports teams, touring groups and delegate room blocks can be handled on a single site, and the walk to the convention centre and theatre removes the need for transfers. Individual business travellers are well served by self-contained units, Wi-Fi and generous parking. Larger conferences would still need to draw on additional Marlborough accommodation providers, but Bings is a sensible anchor property for a group booking.
