Birchwood Manor Motel is located at 189 Tay Street in central Invercargill, Southland, around five minutes' walk from the CBD. Its inner-city position puts it close to shops, restaurants, cultural venues and transport links, and the motel offers a chargeback shuttle service to nearby restaurants for guests who prefer to dine out rather than cook in.
Units are self-contained, each with a fully equipped kitchen, high-speed wireless internet and a private balcony. The property markets itself to both business travellers and families, aiming for a home-away-from-home feel rather than a hotel-style stay. It does not advertise an on-site restaurant, bar, pool, gym or dedicated conference and meeting facilities.
The motel has previously held TripAdvisor's Certificate of Excellence. For MICE purposes, Birchwood Manor is best suited to individual delegates or small groups needing well-located, self-catering accommodation in central Invercargill, to be combined with meeting or event venues elsewhere in the city.
