Boneface Brewing Co. operates a taproom and restaurant at Brewtown, 27 Blenheim Street, Upper Hutt, roughly 30 minutes north of central Wellington. The venue occupies part of the former Dunlop tyre factory buildings that have been repurposed into Brewtown — a craft-beer precinct that also houses Panhead Custom Ales, Te Aro Brewing and Kereru Brewing. Boneface runs a working brewery alongside a sizeable taproom and a destination restaurant on the same site.
### The venue
The interior carries an industrial character in keeping with the old factory shell, with Boneface's distinctive artwork through the space. Seating is a mix of table types — the venue asks guests needing lower tables or chairs with backs to note it when booking. There are dog-friendly tables, and the space handles families and larger casual groups comfortably.
The kitchen is built around smoked meats and burgers, served with the full range of Boneface beers brewed on site, plus wine, cider, spirits and cocktails. Published menus include a food menu, drinks menu, cocktail list, kids' menu and — relevant for organisers — a dedicated Meal for 10 group menu, which is the venue's standard structure for feeding a table of ten.
### Group and corporate bookings
Bookings are taken online through the taproom page. The venue's published threshold is that groups larger than 29 people should call or email rather than book online, with group enquiries directed to the bookings inbox. In practice this means Boneface handles corporate lunches, team dinners, end-of-year functions and post-conference social sessions on request rather than through a fixed function package.
Because of licensing requirements, guests must be 18 or over to book a table unless accompanied by a parent or guardian — worth confirming for mixed-audience events.
Published trading hours are Wednesday and Thursday 12pm–9pm, Friday 12pm–10pm, Saturday 11am–10pm and Sunday 11am–8pm. The venue is closed Monday and Tuesday, which rules out early-week corporate bookings.
### Why the wider site matters
For MICE planners, Boneface is most useful read as part of Brewtown. The precinct markets dedicated event spaces alongside the individual breweries, including The Greenspace — a covered venue with a real grass surface used for private parties, trade shows, markets, gigs and festivals. A conference or incentive group can therefore combine a brewery tour and tasting, a group meal at Boneface, and a larger function elsewhere on the same campus, all within one location and with substantial on-site parking. Brewery visits also work well as an incentive or team-building component for Wellington-region programmes.
Not verified: Boneface does not publish a private dining room, exclusive-hire pricing, maximum function capacity or AV provisions on its own pages. Organisers should confirm these directly, and should treat the Brewtown event spaces as a separate booking.
