Bonita is a Korean-Spanish fusion dining room and bar in Ellerslie, Auckland, at 131 Main Highway. Created by hospitality duo Shanay and Isaac Yu — known for SlowLane Cafe and The Breakfast Club — it pairs the bold, savoury tones of Korean cooking with the made-to-share style of Spanish cuisine, under executive chef Jason Wang.
Tapas-style sharing plates form the backbone of the menu, with dishes such as Ellerslie Bakehouse focaccia with black truffle butter and Leigh fish ceviche with chipotle and agria potato chips. The fully licensed room is warmly styled with rust-toned curtains and plush banquettes and booths, and the drinks list runs to rosatos, reds, crisp whites, orange natural wines, beer and soju.
